so this has been going on for about a year. we flirt and have a blast with each other and we are always laughing around each other because we make each other smile. but everytime i try and talk about liking her and what not she stops talking to me for a day or two. i'm confused does she like me or not?

If you flirt and laugh & enjoy each other's company, then I would probably expect her to be 'interested in' you.

So why is she so reticent, when you try to tell her you like her?

It could be that she is just shy.

It could be that she loves your company, but doesn't have romantic feelings towards you.

It is very possible to enjoy the company of a member of the opposite sex, and really have fun with them, without actually feeling what one is supposed to feel in order to have a relationship.

In years gone by, it was okay to go out with someone for some time and just enjoy each other's company and see how things developed.

Nowadays, things move a lot faster.

Kissing, and even sex, are often expected on the first or second date. This means that some girls ~ those who are more wary of casual sex, or of being otherwise physical, with someone they are not sure about ~ may be unwilling to go out with a boy, unless they feel totally besotted with them.

I'd say that she likes you a lot, but doesn't feel that extra something ~ the romantic and sexual attraction that is needed in a relationship.

I may be wrong, though ~ she may be shy, or she may have other reasons for her reaction.
How old are you both? Could it be something to do with family restrictions?
