Yes, you are probably right about it being for the best.
It sounds as if he decided that you were not compatible.
You can't make someone fall for you. This is called unrequited love and there have been numerous books and songs written about it. Most people experience it at some stage in their lives. It's bittersweet and we just have to learn to live with it, until someone with whom you truly are compatible comes along. Then you will really fall in love ~ with someone who loves you. And you will probably forget all about this boy.
