asking a girl

I am a senior in high school and i have never had a girl friend. I am a basketball player who will play in college. i am often said i look like Luke Walton. Anyways there is this cute girl in class who i like. By the way i just moved to the school. I have one class with her. i have spoken to her once and she said i was very tall. I really like her and I do not know what to say to her. I was wondering if i should have a friend that knows her put in a good word for me or if i should do it myself. I am not afraid to talk to girls but I just don't know what to do. I do not have a lot of experience in this feild. Homecoming is coming up in about a month and I want her to be my date. I would appreciate if you can help me out. Thank you

She may already have a boyfriend or a date to Homecoming, but that shouldn't stop you from asking her. Do this right away, otherwise some other guy could ask her.
If she is free, she is almost certain to say yes because most girls are attracted to tall, good looking, sports stars. You've got everything going for you. Be brave.
