Hi,
I'm in school with this one guy, who I think likes me, but I'm not sure. He has offered to give me a ride home at times, and also I gave him a X-mas card and he told me that he hung it beside his mother's and sister's cards they gave him. When he sees me, his face lights up and he stops and talks to me for a while, and I always catch him looking at me and smiling. I really want to ask him out, but I'm afraid of rejection. I am on the heavy side, and I'm afraid he won't go out with me being heavy. Thanks for any advice.

He's already showing that he doesn't care about your weight. He's been flirting and friendly with you, which is a great start. If you want to nudge this to a bigger level, invite him to something that's not so "date-like", something like asking him to hang out afterschool to study together or ask him if he wants to go with you to a scary movie because you don't want to see it alone. Don't set it up to be a Real Date and you'll suffer less if he says no. And just because he says no once doesn't mean there's no chance for you two...
He seems like a great guy and I hope that things work out for you!
