Should I ask her out?

Hello, I have been seeing a girl around the pool for some time now. (We are both year round swimmers, on different teams) We live about 30-40 minutes apart. Just about 3 weeks ago, we finally talked for the first time. It was on a big week long trip to California with our swim teams. She is a lot of fun to talk to, and the first time I talked to her, I felt an immediate connection, I don't know if she felt the same, but for me it was huge. I'd like to talk to her again, but we have a month off of swimming, and we won't see each other for about a month and a half. I was thinking of asking her out to a movie, but I'm not sure if this would be a good idea, after only knowing each other for about 3 weeks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you
