hi, i am a high school student.i have never had a bf before for several reason which also include the worry of 'what if my parents don't let' however i have never asked them before if i'm allowed to or not. My mother always hints me saying things such as 'a young girl should always concentrate on her studies" or "don't trust every boy that tells you that he likes you", etc. Recently a guy that i was interested in asked me out and he tells me that he likes me.My parents have met this person before. Now the questions are, should i say 'yes'because i'm also interested in hom or "no" because i know that my parents prefer me not to have a bf! i'm too confused...plz help!

If you are in 9th grade, your parents might be reasonable to want you to wait before you start dating. But, if you really want to date, make your case to your parents and try to convince them to see it your way.
If you are in 10th grade then your parents are way out of line to try to prevent you from dating.
It all depends on how mature your parents think you are... some parents let their kids date in 8th grade or earlier.
