How to Start Dating

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
Ok, so I like this guy that I'm friends with, as in we hang out in groups, but not really alone. I've called him a couple times and we've invited each other to our parties. We flirt, but it's hard to tell if he likes me. I'm 15 (so is he) and I've never really had a serious boyfriend, nor have I ever kissed a guy. I'm not sure about his experience, but I'm sure it's more than mine. He goes to a private school, but doesn't live that far away from me. I want to let him know I like him, but be subtle about it. Like, I want to get him to ask me out or something, instead of me asking him. I'm really shy and could never just come out and say it, though.

So i have a few questions: 1-how do I let him know that I like him without having to make a fool of myself, 2-how do i get him to ask me out, and 3-how do i go about kissing him? I'm dying to try it but I'm really chicken. Please help!

First, how to ask him out. Don't just wait for him or try to prod him into doing it. That rarely works. But read the tips -

It's not like you call him up and say "I want to go out with you." It's that you build up your friendship and talking, and then do things as friends, and it grows from there. So it's far more gradual and easy than you're thinking. Start with the talking and maybe movie-going now :)

Next, how to kiss. Again, it's gradual. Most good friends huge each other hello and goodbye. So you do that first. And then during one of those hugs, you kiss him on the cheek. And once that is OK and normal, you kiss on the lips, just a soft kiss. You can read about ways to ease kissing into your relationship here -

It sounds scary to just 'leap' into it, but if you go slowly and surely, it's really quite easy and nice :)
