Original Visitor's Question from a 13-20 year old Female
I recently broke up with a guy I had been going out with for a while. It was so sudden. I wasn't expecting it at all. Its as if one day he woke up and decided that he didn't want to be with me anymore.

I'm having trouble getting over him. It's fine when I'm with my friends. Or if I'm doing something I enjoy. It hurts the most when I'm alone. I think of him and the things we did together and all I feel like doing is crying.

I really want to get over him and get on with my life but I can't. Oh, and he still wants to be friends. How can I be friends with him when I love him? Help I want to forget him!

User Submitted Advice from a 13-20 year old Female

The EXACT same thing happened to me back in Christmas of 2003. It was awful, I will admit to that. My story is a little different though. We were best friends and we were dating. He then all of a sudden (just like your ex did to you) woke up one day and said he thought it was best if him and I would just be friends. I was so hurt at the fact that I thought things were okay. Well, actually I knew things were so-so between the both of us but never did I think we'd break apart from eachother. Well, in conclusion we did break up and he got back with his ex right away. He then I guess broke up w/ her and called me mid February. We became close friends again (not suddenly, but we eventually did). We were'nt officially dating but we sure were acting like it. Now (in July) he trys to pull the same stunt on me again. I just found out he's talking to his ex again. I'm not mad, I'm hurt at the fact that I let him turn his back on me twice, and it's shame on me this time. I didn't fall in love with him the 2nd time we sort of got back together, but I did care for him and in my heart I loved him as I know he did too. Well, that's me. =(
