Original Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
My ex boyfriend and I been together for two years. Weve been officially broken up for about three weeks now,but weve still been around each other jus like we are still a couple. We suppose to be working on our relationship. But he has put me through so much pain, by cheating and we argue all the time because all his friends comes before me. Everytime I try to leave him along for good he keeps coming around. He keep telling me that he not going to let me go and that he is not going to accept me moving on to someone new. but he is not trying to do right by me either. And to make matters worst I have this dude who really likes me and wants to take me out, and i like him, but im still in love with my ex boyfriend. I'm so weak and I dont know what to do. I love him so much and I just wish that he would realize that he had a good woman. I dont kno what to do and I just dont understand why he just cant be a better man. What should I do?

User Submitted Advice from a 41-50 year old Male
taking advantage

You are way too young to be dealing with this issue! Please take it from me, I know how hard it is, as I went through the same thing with a girl. I still love her tremendously, but she was a compulsive liar. She was also very inconsiderate of my feelings and needs, but took care of everyone else. The worse part is that I would explain to her in detail what the problems for me were. She would agree and promise to fix them but she would always do it again. The last straw was when she cancelled a date, but lied about the reason. As she told me, I knew that she wasn't telling me the real deal, so I laughed and said 'whatever'. She called back a few minutes later swearing that she wasn't lying, when i never mentioned that I thought she was. then she called and told me part of the reason that she lied, admitting to the lie...
Then she got mad at me for some unknown reason... I was done. Being good people, we don't have the time for someone who takes advantage of us...
