If he dumped you because you and him didnt talk enough , that is an excuss . in relationships there are alot of people who hardly talk and still love each other very much . If he told you that that was the only reason for the breakup then he's not worth the time of day . And he should still care for you since your friend left . You should have a talk with him and tell him you deserve the real reason why he dumped you . tell him not to give excusses because you deserve better then that . Just because he broke up with you , its not the end of the world . no matter what happens , if someone breaks up with you theres always someone else to come around the corner ya know?
