Visitor's Question:
On February 14,2006 valentine's day we exchanged gifts. And what's was amazing is that we gave each other the same card. She wrote "I know it's been hard over the past year. but you stood by me and look what you have won. i know there are many more to come so just keep standing by me" We dated last year for about 6 months from jan-june, she broke up with me to go out with her old boyfriend. Back in December i took her on a cruise to the bahamas and it was great. Best time i ever had... when we got back we started dating again everything was going good, then all of a sudden after valentine's day she started to hang out with her college friends and saying to me that we need a little break. And she wanted to be with me down in the long run.. She also knows taht i do everything and anything for her. I am the type of peroson who is sometimes jealous and worry a lot about her going out. I'm 29 and she's 19. I know the age difference but i never felt llike this with anyone before in my life and i know she's the one for me. What should i do? I want her back, you know? She says sometimes that i annoy her saying the same thing all the time, i can't help it i loveher . Please help me. I don't want to lose her. I asked her if there is someone else, but she says no she wants to go with her friends and do stuff. If you can help, let me know. Thank you for listening

Our Suggestion:
Since she needs a break, respect her wishes.

Remember how you felt when you were around 20. You wanted time for yourself for adventure and excitement and going out with your friends. That's where she is right now.

Give her the space she needs and don't pressure her to come back.

After three weeks of no contact, give her a call and ask if you can contact her once a week for 15 mins. Use those few minutes to see how she is doing, to let her know you miss her and still care for her. Be cheerful and don't talk about your relationship. This is not an easy thing to do (and my advice is specific but you need to adjust as things progress).
