Visitor's Question:
Me and my girlfriend had been going out for about a year and a half before we broke it off a few days ago, there were a few factors contributin to the breakup. But during the relationship, we helped each other through some really rough times, in the end when we broke up, we both said we'll stay friends and she also said that she never wants to not be able to talk to me again (meaning that she never wants me out of her life im guessing). Anyways i was wondering, we both want to be mates and make that work, but it doesnt seem as easy to do right now. Is there something that i or we can do to make that process easier. I know that over time it'll be easier to be mates and I know its sorta not the best thing to do but i feel that if we stay as friends it will be for the good. Is it better to say not see each other for a while, and then catch up as friends later on??? It hard cause this is my first long-term relationship ive had and ive never dealt with a breakup of this sort.

Our Suggestion:
Continue to be her friend and don't wait about it.

You've only been broken up for a few days and who knows what will happen between you two. You may get back together.

In any case, it's better to keep things going smoothly without a break in communicating.

Good luck! George
