Does he still have feelings for me?

Visitor's Question:
We've been broke up for 6 months. He started dating someone else. He's got two kids, she had one, and she wouldn't have anything to do with his. His kids come first, she was just sex. We had an awesome relationship, and I'm still completely confused as to what happened. I honestly feel that he got really scared. We talked about marriage some, but not often, I made sure if we did talk about it that he brought it up. He was in a horrible marriage before, so I understand not being too eager to get back into one! Well, he's still everywhere I go. Church, the gym, playing on league teams...everywhere. Supposedly he's ended everything with her and he's started sort-a talking to me again. Everytime he does talk to me though, it's like he's nervous. All I wanted was for he to at least acknowledge me, at least say hello. For 3 months we didn't even speak, she wouldn't let him. We were best friends before we ever dated and we dated seriously for two years. NOw I just wonder if he's trying to be nice or if maybe he still has feelings for me. I pray that he does, I want to be back with him so badly. That last few times we've seen each other I've made sure that he's the first to approach me, to let him talk first. I don't want him to jump right into another relationship with someone else, like before. HOw do I prevent that? I'm sure he knows I still carry a torch for him, but I want him to see that I'm okay, that I have been dating. He doesn't like being alone and I want to be the one that he wants to be with. Do I just keep it friendly and hope that he realizes that I'm the one he wants. I don't know if I could handle him dating anyone else again. Help me please. I can't stand this! He's everything I've ever prayed for and to go out on a limb...I think he'd say the same about me! I'm confused!

Our Suggestion:
Since he knows you carry a torch for him and you think he still likes you why not ask him out for dinner?

That will give you some alone time to ease into a discussion of your relationship.

Even if it doesn't work out, at least you tried.

Good luck! George
