Going to Europe With my Ex

Visitor's Question:
My boyfriend of a year broke up with me about a month ago and he wrote me this huge letter basically saying that it's because i'm moving to europe this summer and he can't deal with the distance. I accepted that and i'm still in the process of getting over him. I still really love him but i'm not trying to get him back.

The problem is that we're still in the same group of friends and we'll be going on a month long trip to europe next week. It will be him, 4 other guys and me. I'm really excited about that because they are my best friends and i'm sure we will have a lot of fun but i still don't know how to deal with him, it's really akward and i offered him to just not go on the trip, but he insisted on it and i wouldn't give up that trip just for him anyways.

He's been nice to me ever since the break up but i'm still in love with him, so how can i deal with it? Thank you for your help.

Our Suggestion:
The best kinds of breakups involve the exs still caring for each other and being friends. It's fine to still love him! It might seem a bit uncomfortable at first but you work out a rhythm and things will go along fine. Who knows, maybe he will realize that long distance relationships happen ALL the time and that it's worth it for you guys to give it that extra effort.
