I want her back

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I have been with my girlfriend for 2 years now and I have been in Iraq for a year and a half of that. Stress caused a lot of problems and we fought a lot. But when we were together every thing is perfect. The longer i have been here, the more stressed we have become and we just took it all out on each other. She's kissed other guys and we have called each other mean names. All of this has happened while I have been away. We just recently broke up one month before I came home. Is there anything I can do to get her back? I don't want to throw this away at all, because i know in my heart it will be better when we are together. What can I do? I still love her very much.

Our Suggestion:
Get her to agree to meet you after you return.

Tell her you owe it to each other to talk over what has happened and to apologize for the mean things you have said. This will also give you an opportunity to see if there is room for reconciliation. As you said, you get along better when you are together.

Do this at a nice restaurant and bring her flowers. Be as sweet as you can be.

Good luck! George
