Visitor's Question: I've been dating my boyfriend for a year and 8 mos. and i totally love him,and i think i know he loves me too. We get along really well, we hardly ever fight, and he's super sweet, and an all-around great boyfriend. I just can't trust him. I want to so badly, but something always happens that just tears me apart, and usually it's something stupid and insignificant, but it still hurts. I just don't know if i should b/u w/ him or not, b/c we've been broken up b4 and i remember how that felt ( I literally couldn't eat or put anything in my mouth except water or i would barf - i lost 10lbs.) and i DO NOT want to go through that again. i just don't know if that would happen again this time. Please help Our Suggestion: You didn't mention whether he has given you any real reason to not trust him. Before you think about breaking up, try to figure out what is causing your lack of trust. Trust is one of the most important aspects of a good relationship. Whenever untrusting thoughts come to mind, tell them to go away and stop bothering you because your boyfriend loves you.
