I cheated on my boyfriend of six years. Though to my surprise, he is willingly able to work through this situation. But I honestly do not believe that it will ever be the same again because the cause of my infidelity always occurs and is always going to remain in the back of his mind. I know what I did was completely wrong, but all I really want now is to work and obtain the realtionship that we used to have. The only thing is that it is hard and frustrating and it is constantly hurting him as well as our relationship. My question is, will the actions of my infidelity ever be forgotten? Will the happiness that used to once be present ever exist again? I love him so much and I should be very greatful that my boyfriend is willing to work out the problem. But will it ever be the same again?

Nothing stays the same, everything changes.

So, you won't go back to your old relationship but, guess what, you may build a stronger relationship. It's like a bone breaking and then healing back again stronger.

As long as both of you are willing to try, then go for it. Many others have forgiven much worse mistakes.
