Visitor's Question:
I've been in a two year long distance relationship with my boyfriend, I recently went to visit him and he told me that his parents are pressuring him to marry me or breakup with me. Since both him and I are not ready for marriage yet, they said he should dump me. We've never had a problem or fight during the two years we've been together. He said that he still loves me and wants to be together, but that there will be a breakup in the future. Because his parents said he needs to see what else is out there as I am his first love. He's 25 years old and I'm 23. Unfortunately, he does everything his parents tell him too, as they have always been extremely close. They feel like they need to drive him down the right path so he won't make any mistakes in his life. He says he wants to remain best friends and keep me at his side, not put me in his past and forget about me.
It's hard for me, because we've never had a problem before and I still really love him. I donn't want to break up but I can't go on living each day wondering if it will be the last. We finally talked a little bit and he said he wanted to stay together until October, but I don't think I can make it that long. Each day I hurt more knowing that it's comming to a close. But then I also don't want to break up with him because I love him so much.
I'm so confused and tired of hurting, but also don't want to lose him. I don't know what to do here? And if we break up, i don't know how to handle it or if I could go on to being best friends when I still have strong feelings for him. I thought he was the one for me. What should I do?

Our Suggestion:
Either you should move to where he lives or he should move to you.

Preferably he should move because his parents are interfering.

Another thing to do is to decide to get married and set the date a year and a half from now. This will give you two a chance to determine whether you do want to get married. You could always change your mind along the way.

Meanwhile, living near each other would help you figure it out.

Good luck! George
