Visitor's Question:
hi.Ok, my mom doesn't want my ex boyfriend and i to date. I have broken up with him a couple times before, but i seriously regret ever doing that. Then, about a month and a half ago i found out that my ex had been somewhat cheating on me with who i thought was my best friend. I guess you could call it emotional cheating or w/e. They only went on a walk once and talked a lot on the phone. During that time he was doing that, him and i were trying to date again (but my mom didnt know yet). He has said that he is really sorry for doing what he did. And i know i have screwed up badly too by ever breakin up with him in the first place. I know i'm just in highschool, but I'm seriously In Love with him. I know he loves me too. He is really getting tired of this mess and how my mom won't let us date...I am too... How do I get my mom to let us date? The main reasons she doesn't want us to date is because she knows i have broken up with him twice before and because he kinda cheated on me with my now ex best friend. I have tryed talking to her a million times. She doesn't even want me talking to him now. What can i do to get her to let me date him?? I'm always thinking about him and can't get over him at all like people say i should. I seriously really really really want to be with him. I love him! It is possible for people to marry their highschool sweethearts. My ex boyfriend's best friend is in highschool and already engaged. I love my ex so much! I know its not just a highschool crush type of thing. How do I get my mom to let us date again?

Our Suggestion:
Tell your mother that you are "really serious about him."

Whenever his name comes up, say the same thing. She will ask you why you broke up twice and you can tell her that you weren't sure about him. She will ask about the "cheating" and you can say it wasn't really cheating but two people talking.

Your mother won't buy this the first time around, but if you are consistent with her she will probably believe you.

Good luck! George
