Overprotective mom

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
Last weekend i went out with my best friend and we had a great time, but i found out that she had to lie to her mom that she was with a group of friends just to spend time with me alone. Her mom doesn't know how much time we've been spending together recently and my friend is scared to tell her because she doesn't want her to say no. It's not that her mom doesn't like me because i think that she does. the problem is she is kinda a "boy freak" and doesn't want my friend around too many guys (especially alone). i'm 16 and she's 15 and i really want to persue a relationship, but i feel like this is geting in the way. What should we do? Is there anything i personally can do?

Our Suggestion:
You are in a tough situation.

If you tell her Mom, she might say no. But if you don't tell her she will find out and then be very angry and things could be worse.

The safest thing to do is tell her mother and hope for the best. Promise her mom that you will only go out on dates in a group, that might help.

Good luck! George
