Visitor's Question:
Me and my boyfriend of over a year have been on a break for a little over a month. We go to school in different states. He broke up with me twice in the span of two weeks and we got back together but ended up going on a break b/c he said he wanted to focus on graduating (he will be graduating next week), he wasn't focused on us, and he needed to figure himself out before he thought about being in a relationship. Well I ended up accusing him of cheating 3 times because I have a hunch that he is cheating on me with his ex but he swears up and down he isn't. He was pretty mad about it but he forgave me. We have talked on the phone a few times since then and I have been trying not to bring "us" up. The last time we talked on the phone (last week) he told me to call him over the weekend, so I did, but he never returned my phone call. I texted him 2 days later telling him to have a good day and he still didn't respond. I want to send him a graduation card telling him congratulations and that I love him and miss him, but I am afraid this will push him away even further. I want him to know I still love him, and I want him to realize that what we had is so amazing. Should I try to keep in touch with him or see if he comes back to me?

Our Suggestion:
I think it's a good idea to send him a graduation card and tell him you love and miss him.

This is not too threatening to him and shouldn't push him farther away. Keep your statement very short and sweet though.

Ask if you can call once a week for 15 minutes to see how he is doing and to tell him that you care for him.

Be his best friend if you can.

If none of this works, wait until school is over and hope for the best. Maybe by that time you can try ignoring him and see if that works.

Good luck! George
