Do you have some advice for this person?

So I like this guy from my school but I really don't think I have a chance with him so I have been trying to get over him but it's super hard. In the begining of the school yeah this guy asked me out for his friend but I said no and now he has found me online and now we talk on a daily basis. He is always telling me how pretty I am, how smart and funny I am, and complimenting me on almost everything the can! He left on a trip to Italy with a friend and he said he was going to have a hard time not talking to me for 10 days, but he has internet connection over there so he has been talking to me still and he is constantly saying that he misses me and he cant wait to come back so he can see me, even though we have never hung out he just saw me at school everyday. A few days ago I told him that I am single because of my personality but he disagreed and said that it was just because I havent found the right guy but then he said that i have, and its him.
All my friends think that he likes me but I don't really know what to think. But the thing is he knows that I like the other guy, and he knows him because they are on the varsity football team at school. Now that I have been talking to him for such a long time Im kinda starting to like him a little but I don't know if he likes me back because I really dont want to like him if his feelings are completely different. I mean hes a really nice guy but im not sure if I would rather be with him or continue liking the other guy.... help me! Guys are so confusing!

He certainly does like you a lot.

He even kept in contact with you from Italy.

My advice is to build your feelings for him and see what develops. The other guy may be a dead end.

But, in the end, it is your choice as to what makes you feel good.
