Visitor's Question:
Ok, heres the just....
My ex and i were friends for a year, then went out for 3 years. He was my best friend. We started getting rocky around the last year. Things seemed to get worse and worse. He started breaking up with me, and then we would get back together, then finally he broke up with me and we didn't talk for a few months. Just as I was starting to get a semi-normal life, he calls and we start talking again. He says he wants to just be friends, and work at that for now. He doesn't want a serious relationship right now as he is busy with work and school, and spending time with friends. So our relationship now is like a friends with benefits, but its more convenient for him. He makes most of the shots. If he don't want to hang out, then we don't. We mostly hang out at night when he is going to bed, and has nothing else to do....
I am still very much in love with him. We both were thinking about marrying each other. I never have, nor want to see anyone else in my life. So what do i do? is this a lost hope? is there any hope? Any help will be greatful!

Our Suggestion:
Being friends with benefits can mean one of two things.

One is that he is just using you for sex and doesn't care for you much.

The other is that he cares for you and sex is part of that caring.

Only you can figure out which is the case. Try communioating, sharing feelings, and being affectionate. If he responds he probably cares for you. If he isn't interested then he probably doesn't care for you.

Good luck! George
