Visitor's Question:
My EX boyfriend and I broke up a couple days ago. I love him dearly and care a lot about him and always will. We had just moved in together but since he has bad credit I put EVERYTHING under my name and he agreed to pay me little by little. He's been doing good paying me. But I broke up with him the other day because I'm tired of arguing with him. He's very hard-headed and never admits he's wrong and since i hate fighting, i'd rather bite my tongue so we could be happy again instead of arguing for days. But it's come to a point where i've realized we cannot be together anymore. But I love him so much and we've both been through a lot together and I have so many great memories with him that this is the hardest thing to do in my life. I think it would be easier if we faught and i hated him. But since I love him still it's very difficult. Anyway, he said that he'll keep paying for what he owes but all my friends and family are telling me to take everything back because he can stop paying me whenever he wants. And i honestly trust him you know, but what if he gets over me quicker and finds a new girlfriend who convinces him not to pay me anymore? I don't want to be one of these women that end up taking EVERYTHING they own from the guy. But honestly I'm in so much debt. What should I do? How do I handle this? He's very depressed right now as i am, and i really would hate to call him and tell him i'm taking back all the furniture and kitchen stuff. I just don't want to do that to him but I know it's the only way i can assure I won't be taken advantage of in the future. I'm just so confused.

Our Suggestion:
Don't do anything rash quite yet.

It's only been a few days since you broke up. You might find yourself back together with him before you know it.

As far as taking the furniture and kitchen stuff back now... what good is that going to do you financially? You will be stuck with stuff you probably don't need and he will be off the hook for the debt. If you DO need the furniture then give your relationship a chance for a week and then take the stuff back.

Good luck! George
