Visitor's Question:
My girlfriend and I have been together nearly nine months now. The first 4-5 months were spectacular! Now i find myself incredibly busy with school / work / and trying to also fit a social life in there (but that rarely happens). I try to spend time with my girlfriend, but that usually consists of walking to class together and sleeping together most nights. Lately we have been fighting because she feels like I'm distant and I'm not making enough time for her and we never go out and do anything anymore. Lately some of the fights have come to threats of breaking up, but then she starts crying and i end up saying whatever i have to in order to comfort her. Ultimately I feel like we should break up, but she is still totally in love with me and seems to be unable to handle a break-up (she also has issues with anxiety and depression). So im stuck, it would be better if we broke up, but i dont have the heart to break hers. This morning after an argument we decided to take a break and see where we are in a week. I truly dont beleive this relationship will be fixed through a week break, but at least it gives us time to think. I have never actually broken up with a woman before, and her attachment is making this extremely hard. please give whatever advice you can. i would greatly appriciate it.

Thank You Very Much

p.s. just so you know i am 22 years old, my girlfriend is 20 and we are both college students.

Our Suggestion:
Perhaps you have tired of her in general.

Perhaps you are using school and work as excuses for not seeing her as much.

But, I think it is more likely that you have a serious problem finding the time she apparently needs together. While you have explained this to her, she hasn't gotten the message. She has to accept you as you are and accept what you have to offer or she needs to accept a break up.

It will be good for both of you if you make this explicitly clear to her and let her make the choice.

If, however, you actually want to break up with her take a look at this:
