Visitor's Question:
Hi, My boyfriend for 4 months, broke up with me 2 weeks ago. He was 23, I am 18. I was and still are very much in love with him.
Everything was perfect in the first 3 months, he was pushing the relationship forward, he was the clingy one but i could handle it and liked it. He used to ring me all the time, text me all the time. He lives 15 minutes away from me on the train and has a motorbike, so the distance isn't really a huge issue.
Then about a month or so ago he started to be quite off with me and i questioned it, he said he was stressed and confused and i saw him a week later thinking he was going to dump me but he bought be a beautiful necklace. Then he carried on being off with me and then the day he dumped me i had to get it all out him him. He said he was confused, it's not you its me, he wants to be single for a bit, he doesn't think hes treating me fairly. He said when he sorts his head out and if i'm still available we could get back together although i don't know if he meant it. He said he still wants to know me. Oh and his ex really broke his heart and messed with his head but that was over a year ago...
I am devasted. I havent rung him or anything but he has contacted me since. I am having a house party next week and he said he would like to go when he dumped me, I'm not sure weather to invite him or not... cause i want to do that no contact thing, but i'm missing him terribly and i just want him back! Do you think there is any hope?

Our Suggestion:
If you want him back, be honest with him.

Tell him you want him back and that you will give him plenty of time to have some space. Don't be dramatic about it, just conversational.

Since he wants to come to your house party invite him but don't make a big deal about it.

Doing the no contact thing is ok as a general rule, but mix in some contact like the party so that he will remember how nice you are.

Good luck! George
