Fighting for her.

Visitor's Question:
Me and a friend of mine met at the beginning of last year. She already had a boyfriend so I didn't do anything. But as the months wore on she and I got closer than just friends. We were constantly holding each other and talking to each other for hours.
With her current boyfriend, she's come so close to breaking up with him so many times, but never has, as apparantly he has become "a part of her". Problem is there is no future. he will be leaving for college next year and she'll never see him again.
Now after so long I'm completely drawn to her in everyway. She even said everything about me is attractive, so I have nothing to worry about in terms of whether we like each other or not. I know her feelings for me are still the same, more than friendly (trust me I know, but if I need to elaborate I will).
And as we've been so close for so long, I don't know if telling her I'm in love with her will screw everything up and our friendship will end, or she'll dump him for me. I just need to know what the best thing is to do, because as my friend puts it (and he's seen for himself how close we are), I could just as easily be in complete heaven with her, as I could be in hell alone.

Please help.

Our Suggestion:
You should tell her you love her. Start off the discussion by saying that you have "developed feelings" for her and see what she says. Based on what she says, you will know how much to tell her at that time. But eventually you will need to tell her or you'll be very unhappy and that won't be good for your relationship.

Good luck! George
