Visitor's Question:
For about three months I've been seeing a guy who is engaged.
I know it's bad but it started out as a friendship. He talked about how much he didn't like his feancee(sp?)or wife to be. I felt like he was just saying this to get girls to feel sorry for him, but after talking to his friends and family he was telling the truth. He didn't like her but felt like at his age(30) he should get married and settle down after college. He asked me out on for some drinks and I said okay. I'm thinking he wants to get advice about his girl but everytime I ask questions about her he got really upset. He said that feel bad because he like being away from her. She lives in Florida. For some reason we ended up having sex that night. And after that we would alway flrit in class. But he would never call me. But then I would see him in class and he would be all over me, holding hands and calling each other baby and things like that. He told me that he wish he had meet me first and always say to nicest things even after we agreed to be friends. I hated the fact that he would say the sweetest things and never call. He says that he has alot on his mind being concered with moving to Florida and getting married and find a job. Why would he marry someone his dosen't like? He said that if he knew that things would work between us that he would call his girl and tell her he dosen't want to get married. Then he starting saying that I'm too good for him. He is very insacure because he's 30 and losing his hair white guy and still lives at home. I'm a 24 year black women who can attract a lot a attention. Anyway his going to Florida to live and get married and what we had just kind of ended. Why would someone say all of those nice things and not mean it. We wouldn't he call me? We went out and had so much fun without having anymore sex. We use to just talk and laugh and have fun. How can he just forget me and get ready to married someone he doesn't even like. The last thing he said is that he wish things could have been different. I miss his so much . What can I do to get pass this?

Our Suggestion:
The best way to get past this is to move on. This insecure man may come to his senses, but you have no idea how long it will take. Don't put your life on hold for him.
