Visitor's Question:
alright... so I had a boyfriend over the summer and he is 2 years older than me. He asked me out 3 days after I met him. I said yes and we went out for the whole summer but I dumped him at the end because I was going to see him at high school since I am a freshman, and he is a junior, and I didn't feel right going out with him. It was very weird. So then he flirted with me a lot at school and I realised wow I should have kept him. Finally when I begin to like him, a lot, he goes and gets a girlfriend. I have already told him how much I like him and everything. But the real question is... how do I get him to dump her and go out with me?he doesn't even like her! Please help me...

Our Suggestion:
Lots of freshman and juniors date! It seems very, very strange to me that you would have broken up with him just because you were at the same school. Most people would be really happy if their boyfriend/girlfriend went to the same school instead of living far away.

And now you only decide you'll date him because he's taken? And your aim is to destroy a relationship he's in? If anything, you should be his FRIEND first and a friend doesn't actively demolish a relationship someone is in, no matter what the rationale. That's not being a friend.

So be there for him. Talk to him, be a shoulder for him. High school relationships are often short lived. Do NOT try to break them up! By showing that you can be *trusted* and honest and reliable, and be there for him, you will be who he turns to if and when they do break up. But if you were the active agent causing it, that's always going to be there in the back of his mind, that you were a 'breaker'. And that's not a good kind of feeling to have about someone. If instead the feeling that he has is that you were there for him even though he was with someone else, that's a *very* good feeling to have about someone.
