I find her not having time for me

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
I have a girlfriend that I have known for over ten years. Because of my past of my parents dieing when I was real young, she became a mother to me. She played the role very nicely and stayed a good friend. It was hard to understand her motherly techneques at first. I finially got used to the fact of her little mothering techniques and accepted it. She now is a foster parent to a sixteen year old and needs her attention for a lot of the time I spent with her. I understand that this teenager needs her more than I right now, but I am afraid it is damaging our friendship. I find her not having time for me and our letters are getting further apart. With her not having time for me it feels like my friendship is not good enough and I become jealous of the teenager that she is taking care of. I love her deeply like I would my own mother but now I just want to stay away.
What do I do?

Our Suggestion:
I know you've been through a lot and this woman definately has a very big heart. Now it's your turn to have a big heart and give to someone else who needs time and love the way you did. In the end you will feel better and so will she. I'm not saying it will be easy, but if you love her and also want to grow as a person you can do it.

Best wishes,
Marc
