Having sex for the first time

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
When you have sex for the first time. i hear that u bleed, but how much do you bleed actually? does it depend on the person and your period or is it the same for everyone? and is it possible for it not to hurt? i've been horseback riding all my life and it was always bareback, and does this help me with the pain?

Our Suggestion:
There is a piece of skin called the hymen that covers the entrance to the vagina. Some women have a strong piece, some have a flimsy one. It's all personal, so the experience of the first time having sex is all personal as well. The blood comes from the ripping of the hymen, which may be painful for some and not for others. The best way of handling it is to go very slowly. Start with penetration with fingers, and gradually stretch the membrane so that it doesn't rip, just bends. Use lots of lubrication so that it's slippery and easier to have the penis enter. Take your time, take it gently and it should work out ok.

Also, make sure that your partner is a caring and decent guy who you trust completely. That will put you at ease much more than if you're getting drunk and finding the nearest available male. Find someone who you have a commitment with so that this relationship is meaningful and important and you will have a better experience.

Good luck with it!
