Visitor's Question:
Me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year. I left to go out of town for a week and the day before i left we had a very good time together. But all of a sudden when i came back, he said he thought about some stuff while i was gone. He said that we never got along and that we fought too much. We definitely didnt fight that much but dont all couples fight a little bit? i cried for days and didnt eat or sleep. i keep trying to tell myself that i need to get over him. i just cant because i love him so much. the other day i went to church and me and my ex were decorating a room for vacation bible school. i started crying because i was so upset that he was right there and i couldnt have him. he realized that i was crying and hugged me and told me it would be ok. eventually he kissed me and i thought everything was alright. but a few minutes later he told me again that i would find someone else. last night i got online and talked him. he told me to stop bothering him and to give him space. he also told me that he didnt want to be friends or talk to me anymore and that he was happier without me. i just dont understand how he can get over me that fast. i am so confused. i still want to be with him but he doesnt want anything to do with me.

Our Suggestion:
It sounds to me like this is more than a sudden about face on his part. I think that he's been thinking this for a while and that week alone crystallized what he'd been thinking for a while before it. Unfortunately, your communication was failing you and you didn't know it. Otherwise he would have talked about this long ago and you could have worked it out.

I think that you're going to have to move on and put your love for him in a box under your bed. You'll always have feelings for him, it's just a matter of knowing that those feelings aren't returned anymore.
