I went on a road trip with an ex, then my boyfriend broke up with me

Visitor's Question:
My boyfriend of 6 months recently broke up with me. It was because I went on a road trip with an ex to talk about some money he owes me. I told my boyfriend that I would stop talking to my ex and that the money meant nothing. I went back on my word. When I told my ex to end communication, he called more and more. He wouldn't listen to my requests and I gave in and let him chat my ear off. My boyfriend assumed that I was having sexual relations with my ex because I cannot give him a specific reason to why I went back on my word. When my ex found out that my boyfriend broke up with me, he cut off communication. I know that we both want to get back together, but he has reservations. Because I went back on my word with one thing, he can't believe anything else I have to say or even have told him. I want so badly to make things better between us. How?

Our Suggestion:
You're stuck between a rock and a hard place. You need to bare your soul with him and be completely honest with him about why you did what you did. Which means you need to figure it out yourself. You can tell him, "I honestly don't know why I did it, except that it was easier than fighting with my ex-" and over time and as you show your caring to him, he'll give in and go out with you again. Honesty and truth and no begging. You don't need to beg, because you didn't do anything that requires begging. You just talked (or was talked to) with your ex, and that's not begging-worthy. If you'd had sex with him then yes, you should beg. But you didn't. So that's the best way to go about it.

Good luck!
