Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
My dilema is my girlfriend has a male friend from overseas who is stopping in the area and wants to spend the night over her place( I suspect he likes her). She says there is and never has been anything of a sexual nature at all. She even suggested I stay that night if I was concerned by this or even take him on the town. He is on his way to see his girlfriend in Iowa. From personal experience I know guys, 90% have alterior motives, and females tend to not see this coming, but as a male I do know from just observing people my entire life. I would like to see what you think of this situation.

Our Suggestion:
While it might be that 90% of all guys have ulterior motives, your girlfriend has the strength of character to resist him. I like the idea that you spend the night while he's there. That will ease your mind about what he would do with her, and that would send a clear message to him that she's taken. If you go to dinner with him and her, then you can see him as a person instead of as a threat.

All relationships are based on faith and trust. You need to be able to have the confidence in your girlfriend that she would not do anything to jeapordize your relationship. If you doubt her, then you should look at yourself and see why you might be feeling this insecurity.

I wish you the best.
