Visitor's Question: i want to break up with this guy who i have been with for about 5 months. i thought i t would be easy but its not. he never wants to be seen in public with me, and he has this ex-girlfriend he has a baby with, she keeps calling my phone and harrasing me. it is so much harder trying to get away from him, because i dont know if he'll tell his ex to do something to me out of revenge and i am scared. Can you please help? Our Suggestion: It seems to me like you would have an ally with the ex. Next time she calls say, "I'm trying to get rid of him. How should I do it?" and get her on your side. I'm sure she hates you because you have her baby's father, but if you make it clear to her that you want out of the relationship and you want to be out of her life as well, she'll be more than happy to help you out. As for braking up with him, just tell him flat out that things aren't working out anymore, and you'd like him to stop by on Saturday to pick up his stuff. If you are worried about revenge, contact the local police and say that you're worried and they'll offer advice or have the patrol cars go around your block more often. And if you let them know ahead of time, if anything does happen, you have it documented that she's probably the reason. All in all, you need to have a life free of fear or pain.
