Premature marriage offerSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: There is this guy i have recently met at a friends house. The guy showed interest in me the first time i met him. The next time , he started to talk about marriage. I like the guy and would like to know him better. But my problem is that I am a student in the Netherlands and my study time is finished and i must leave the country after about 2 weeks. Anyway, the guy says that i should stay here and we should marry and he will start process to register me as his wife and I can be staying with him. I think the guy has made thios decision very fast and this frightens me as I dont really know him . This man tells me that he liked me the first time he saw me and that he wants to marry me and settle down. Should I trust this guy whom i have known for just a few days. I just know a bit about him.I dont have much time in the netherlands as i have to leave the country. How can I make him wait a bit for us to really know each other while I will be going away. Please help. Our Suggestion: As you said, you and the guy need to get to know each other better before getting married. He doesn't sound very sensible or stable to me. Tell him that you will keep in contact with him but marriage is out of the question. If he is a respectful person, he will understand your feelings and not pursue the idea of marriage anymore for now. If he really cares for you, he should be willing to wait until you become ready (if you ever do). Meanwhile, emailing, telephoning, etc will help you two get to know each other better.
