Phone calls work, in person doesn't Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: There is this girl I have known for about 4 years. We haven't talked much to eacher in the past because we've went out when we were young and broke up, I guess becasue there wasn't much socializing. We recently started talking quite a bit through the phone. Ya it seems easy to talk to someone through the phone, it's kinda hard in person. I do talk to her in person but not much, just a few words excahnged here and there. I would like to have lengthy enjoyful conversations with her and kinda signal to her that I like her, but I don't know what to do. Our Suggestion: It is really nice that you two enjoy long phone calls and can communicate well that way. But, it isn't as easy in person. This is not unusual. Talking in person is more of a challenge because it is more real and you feel more vulnerable. The answer is to make a strong effort to spend more time talking in person. Ask her on a date so you can be alone and undistracted. Even taking a walk together will give you that opportunity. If she isn't ready for that kind of activity yet, keep up with the phone calls which seem to be working well.
