Visitor's Question:
I've been with the same girl for 15 years, we have 3 kids ages,12,2and 1.We are from Scotland U.K .Recently she broke up with me, but she then told me she has fallen in love with a guy she has been talking to online from America .
It is serious because she is flying out to see him in April.
He says he is willing to move to Scotland ,but it will take at least a year ,if it does happen ,He has 2 kids 14 and 7.
I am very confused as i see her 4 times a week and we hug and kiss, but no sex,i still love her with all my heart and would love to be back with her ,but she is willing to give this guy a chance .But the thing is she says she still cares for me and has feelings for me and would take me back if it does not work out for her with him .i am so confused ,hurt but i still love her .what can i do it is so bizzare .

Our Suggestion:
I am very sorry you are in this situation. Realistically the only thing you can do is to maintain good relations with her and hope that her trip to America makes her realize that you are the better choice. Make it very clear to her that you strongly oppose the break-up without being violent about it. That way she can't excuse herself by thinking that you don't care.

Internet affairs are getting fairly common but they have a major flaw... there is no physical interaction. So when the two finally get together they may find they don't have much to talk about, or, they are so used to talking online that face-to-face communications is difficult.

I wish you the very best of luck,
George
