Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
first of all thank you for taking time to read this. anyway my problem is like a few that i have read, you see my girlfriend and i are currently on a break, now we both agreed on this and its only been 3 days without talking to each other, and the past 2 years we have never gone without 1 day of at least 1 minute on the phone. now i say that we both agreed because sometimes when i am with her i really feel ackward, and it feels like i really dont love her, but sometimes i get the feeling like i cant live without her. well she said the same thing pretty much, and i feel like this time apart is a great idea, but man like right now my body aches being away from her, not hearing her voice. she also has a child with another man, but hes a dead beat and isnt in the childs life. now i have been with the child for 2 years, and she calls me daddy and it hurts sooo bad being away from her. now the childs father was very verbally abuseive to my girlfriend when they were together and he was a control freak. now she has been treated like dirt with her ex, and she never had anything nice done to her. now am not prince charming but my momma didnt raise a fool, i always open the car door for her, regular doors, and etc. i brought her flowers to work many times and bought her expensive things, now its never been about money but sometimes i feel she doesnt appreciate me when it comes to like just little things like babysitting on a friday night. so i need to ask you what should i do? during the day i feel that its best for us to be away, and i respect her and her privacy so please can you give me some advice? should i see her? should i move on? thank you for your time- The Lost Bodybuilder

Our Suggestion:
My advice is to quit the break and spend a lot of time talking with each other. Tell each other your deepest feelings and thoughts. That is the better way to deal with problems. After all, if you get married, you can't just walk away and take time off.

Sit down together and talk about things that you usually hide from each other. If after all this talking you decide to call it quits, at least you made the effort together to resolve whatever the issues may be.

Sorry you are in this predicament and I hope it turns out ok!
George
