This is a continuation of the Going to Different Colleges Question

Thanks for that advice, but I'm really wondering what I can do right now. I know we're broken up now, and we had never planned to stay together at least during the initial phase of college, I would never put that kind of burden on a poor little freshman 3000 miles away, that would just seem cruel to both her and myself. It's just that while we're both still here, I want to know what is a good idea in terms of seeing/talking to her. She broke up with me, so I haven't been calling or asking her to hang out for a couple weeks now, as I should probably be giving her as much space as she wants, and it's been rough. I suppose sometimes its hard to accept the reality of the situation, but us separating has been harder than I had ever thought it would be. Maybe it was a bit naive of us to enter a relationship like this having planned to eventually scale it back.

Our Suggestion:
You are in a tough situation.

You are giving her the freedom she wanted but time is running out on the possibility of getting back together for a while.

Perhaps you should contact her and see how she is doing. Ask her if she would consider getting back together until you go off to college. After all, senior year is supposed to be the most fun of all. Proms, etc. Tell her you'd like to take her to the senior prom at least.

Stay good friends with her because that will keep you close in case she wants to change.

Good luck, George
