Visitor's Question:
I am a gay male, 31. My bf and I broke up and he wants to remain friends, yet he says he's not gay anymore and doesn't want "the gay lifestyle." I ran into one of his friends (who is HIV+) at a store a few weeks back. He told me he called him but has not heard from him. I brought this up to my ex. He says he deleted his message and said "I have changed, I don't need to call him." I got into a heated argument with him about this and got upset with him. He says he forgives me, yet actions speak louder than words. He won't hang out with me anymore because I got upset with him.

A week later at work (he works in another department) he told me he had three sex dreams about me in one night. He thinks nothing of it, yet he said he enjoyed himself and liked the dreams. He also blurted out my pet names 4 times, gave me "the eyebrow," and acts gay.

I then informed him that I started having dreams as well. He was very excited about it. Now he says he feels guilty about feeling this way and thinks God is punishing him for his homosexual tendencies. So now he won't talk to me outside of work because of the "guilt."

Now all he wants to do is sit at home and do nothing ut watch TV.

My questions are:
Can gays turn straight?
Does his dreams mean anything?
Does he still have feelings for me?

What should I do? I sill want to be friends with him and I feel he is shutting me and his friends out.

I am at wit's end with this!

Our Suggestion:
Sorry you are in this situation.

Can gays turn straight?: One recent study by a Columbia professor "proved" that gays can turn straight. Others say his study was tainted. So I guess the jury is still out on this.

Does his dreams mean anything?: They very likely do mean that you are in his mind and that is being expressed through erotic dreams.

Does he still have feelings for you?: The signs indicate that he still has feelings for you but is suppressing them.

Keep in mind I am not a professional counselor and your own interpretations are probably more valid than mine.

Good luck!
George
