Staying Friends with an Ex

Visitor's Question:
Me and my ex were at a party together and i was tryin to ignore him. He kept coming by me holding my hand, hugging me, kissing my neck/cheeks and pretty much acting like we were together again. Then we ended up making out before we left the party.

This was a saturday... then we didnt talk for the whole week. And friday comes and there was a boys basketball game and 2 of his best friends who saw us make out, told me that he was denying the fact that we did. Then after the basketball game me and my gurls went to a party with ppl who go to a different school.

And i was telling someone about my situation with him and this gurl comes up to me who heard and she told me hes with another gurl, that was at that party (he wasnt there). So, he made out with me and probably denied it becuz of this gurl getting mad at him.

And then this girl, i didnt say anything to her but she told my ex that i was syain s**t to her... so now hes mad at me about that and i just want to be friends. Thats my story, now my question is... what can i do to make this better, my ex is not a nice guy when it comes to his ex girlfriends but we have together and i just want to be friends, what can i do?

Our Suggestion:
The basis of friendship is talking and honesty. So call him up and talk about this. He's upset at you because supposedly you talked about *him* cheating on his ex? If he's the one who did this in the first place, flirting with you and going after you, he better be mature enough to take the consequences!! For him to lie about it and then get upset with YOU is way out of line.

Tell him you didn't say anything about the situation. But then ask him what was going on. You have a right to know what he was up to, if he was dating someone else and then going after you too. He has some explaining to do, and he should apologize to you either for that night or for being upset with you afterwards or both.
