Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
my bf and i have been together for almost 4 years.lately he says hes leaving because i am always in a bad mood or always nagging. i notice i am but not until we are done fighting and i thikn about it. how do i stop nagging and fighting over little things...

Our Suggestion:
You've developed two bad habits. It's time to fix them.

The bad mood may be the result of some bigger problem than you realize. Think hard about what puts you in a bad mood... it is probably something your BF does or does not do. Or maybe it is work or something else.

Whatever the case, you have to deal with it as it is now. If you don't alreaddy, start calling your BF a pet name or names like Sweetie or Honey and be sure to come to the door to greet him when he comes homes and give him a big hug and kiss. Initiate sex with him if you don't already. Do nice things for him every day and he can't say you are in a bad mood. In fact, you may find yourself in a good mood after doing these things.

If you are nagging him it is probably for a good reason but nagging is not going to fix the problem but may make it even worse. The nagging will certainly start small arguments. Maybe a way to help you remember when you are nagging or arguing is to mentally decide each time whether you are going to call him "Sweetie" or "Honey." If you decide to start with "Sweetie" that means you are going to nag or argue (you need to figure that out before you say "Sweetie.") If you say "Honey" that means you are not looking to nag or argue.

I'm not saying you are the problem here... just part of the problem. I can't give advice to him because he didn't ask me. So don't feel picked on.

Hope some of this helps!
George
