I finally stood up to her

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
How are you today! Well I dated this girl for about 7 months. I really fell for her, and we had gone through alot in a short period of time. She recently broke up with me because of some changes she felt i needed to make. since then ive made those changes and she is very well aware that i have made them yet she is still staying away. i gave her a few weeks of space as she asked and then when i tried talking to her she was very nasty. This being a normally very sweet girl who at the time of the breakup said she still loved me and wanted to be friends still.... So her continuing to be nasty to me and me taking it, I finally stood up to her and told her that ive been nothing but nice to her since the breakup and just was trying to be her friend and she still treats me terrible (with a few swear words at the end). So here we are, its been a few days since I did that, and ofcourse no contact from her. And before the question, she is also talking to another guy, but she say swears there is absolutely nothing going on.... So should i believe her? and what should I do about all this, because wow I really fell for this girl so despite her being nasty, I dunno I just want her back, and her back to her old self as well. please help!!!

Our Suggestion:
One question you can ask yourself is why do you love her despite her being so nasty?

This doesn't sound like love, it sounds more like obsession or an overactive memory. In other words, you remember the good things about her but overlook the bad things.

It doesn't matter much whether you trust her or not about this new guy. The real question is whether you can win her back again. I might also add that you should wonder if you should try to win her back again. Sometimes the better thing to do is to drop back and see what happens.

Think really hard about this girl and if she is worth your time.

Good luck!
George
