You need to feel out what is exactly going on with the other girl. It's really unfair to do things with him if this other girl thinks he is HER boyfriend. If you guys are friends, then take it from that angle. Ask to grab dinner with him as friends, and then ask him about this other girl. Find out what they are to each other and so on.
