Visitor's Question:
My ex and I have been dating for six months and have been broken up for 1 1/2 months. We both were head over heals for each other and were a perfect match, that's what everyone thought including us. She was in a serious 4 year relationship when she was 16-19 years old, she's 21 now- I'm 24, which went bad due to emotional abuse and cheating which he did to her. About a year after that break-up, her and I go together. I was always know as the great guy cause we got together for a month when she was dating the other guy in the past and I was perfect to her. Well, when we were together for those 6 months, she had some communication problems cause she gets real defensive and passive agressive when we ague about things. I think it's due to her past relationship that went bad and still carries that with her. She ended up breaking up with me because she said she wasn't ready to settle down and she wanted to have fun with her friends and experience life before she graduates college in one year. I know that she has neglected her friends in the past and she doesn't want to do that again. We had talked about a lot of serious things in our future and she wanted them more than I did. She doesn't want me to wait for her, but's hard not to. She still wants to talk and be friends although the times when I talk to her or see her around, it's like we're both still together and it's not acquward at all. She still flirts with me and I can see that she is still concerned about me. I know she really loves and care about me that she broke it off cause she felt guilty wanting her own space for awhile and not giving me her full attention. My question is do you think she will grow out of this phase and realize what she had with me? Do you think she needs more time on her own to get over her last break-up even though she says she is? What do you think when the times that I do talk to her or see her, she still has concern and flirts with me and still wants to be friends?

Our Suggestion:
As I said in my last response to you: hang in there.

She shows all the signs of needing some more space but she sees you as a safe place to go when she needs security.

So, be patient, be loving and pretty soon she will be back.

Good luck!
George
