Visitor's Question:
My ex and I have been together for 3.5 years and done so much together. She always depended on me and I did to her. We really loved each other. We had problems in the last 7 months. It includes another woman trying to steal me away from her and I didnt shut the other woman out and tried to keep her as a friend behind her back. also me and her fighting and becoming physically and verbally abusive but I never hit her. in the last month of the relationship she became close friends with her classmate. they worked on a project together. she became attracted to him and spoke to him behind my back. after a month of hiding him from me, she breaks up with me saying she doesnt love me anymore and we will never get back together. she broke up with me on Dec 1, and its now Jan 9. she did buy me an xmas gift and i bought her one too. I cant stop thinking about her. I love her so much and I am willing to change because i understand the severity of my problems with her. I already declared my love to her in a couple emails. she says she didnt break up with me to be with someone else but its obvious thats a lie. What i do know is that she isnt his girlfriend because she doenst want that, but they have slept together after a month of us being broken up. I am willing to put that aside and accept her back. Every time i speak with her she doesnt want to talk to me and shuts me out. she avoids my calls, and doesnt give me a chance to hang out with her as friends. What can I do now? I still want her back so badly. For the both of us this is our first true relationship, i want to keep it. she says im pushing her away. i told her not to give herself up to this guy, since its only a rebound. she doesnt care, but if she once cared for me, shouldnt there be at least something in her heart for me? I want her back so bad.

Our Suggestion:
Ask her if you can call once a week as a friend.

When you call, ask her how she is, let her know you still care, and maintain contact. Be cheerful, don't talk about your relationship, and keep the call to 15 mins. This will give her the space she needs and give you the contact that you need.
