Visitor's Question:
Dear Friendly Advisor,
There is this girl that i've liked for some time. At first, things were great and stuff. But, we were only friends, nothing more. Then, one day, she suddenly stopped being friendly and became hostile, not mean though. She stopped signing on to MSN and ignored some of my emails, specifically, the ones about why she did this or about us. So, I tried to force myself back into her life, big mistake. She went farther away. Things kept going down and now, I did an incredibly dumb thing that I feel awful for. I asked for her opinion, but she wouldn't answer the question, so, I told her to f* off. Then, she called me an ugly fag and told me to f* her or something. So, I said, "why would I want to f* an insecure b**** like you? All you're good for is a one night stand!" A few more low insults were said, specifically, she said I wouldn't be caught dead at a dance with you, and then I tried passing it off as a life lesson. (Up until now, all emails)
Then, at school, I tried to apologize, because I know I went too far and she deserves to know that I am very sorry. She said it was ok. But, I know it's not when she walked off while I was trying to talk, twice now. The second time I tried to stop her by blocking her path. But, as luck would have it, on of my friends walked up behind and I turned and she fled. So, I tried email apology, not very friendly, but no other way. Again, she claims it's ok.
My questions are these:
1) Should I leave it at it's ok?
2) My friends bailed and can’t accompany me to the dance to flirt with new girls, should I go alone?
3) If I go, should I try and ask her to dance with me?
4) Leave her alone until she wants to come back or what?
5) Any tips for managing anger besides counting to ten?
6) Would any of the advisors be willing to chat to help me out via MSN MESSENGER?
7) Any other things that I should or shouldn't do?
Thank You,
The Guy

Our Suggestion:
1. For the time being you should leave it at "it's ok." Things have sunk to such a low level for you two that you need some more space.

2. Go to the dance alone. A lot of people will be there who cam alone and you can hang out with friends and new girls.

3. Do what you feel comfortable doing. It may be worth a chance.

4. If you dance with her then you're not leaving her alone. So base your decision on the dancing results.

5. On the Internet, you can always change your mind until you hit the send key. So make a habit of re-reading anything you wrote before hitting send.

6. Unfortunately there are so many emails that time doesn't permit.

7. Do find a new girlfriend as fast as possible.

Good luck! George
