Lifetime of misery

Visitor's Question:
Ok so me and my ex have been apart for two months or so now. Just a little while ago after weeks of not talking to eachother we've decided to start over and become friends again. Hes made it clear that he really doesn't want me back and I'm fine with that. But now its just seemes like whenever we start to get along, problems follow. For example: we can have a decent conversation on messenger but when i put a quote in my name he would be telling me that better not be directed towards me. He also hates the people I talk to who aren't friends with him and he makes such a big deal about it. Its like he thinks that my whole life revolves around him and I should become who he wants me to become. I'm not the jealous one in this friendship because he recently had a new girl friend and I had to put up with alot of the b.s talking crap that went along with that. I try to be myself and act down to earth towards him like I used to when we were dating but the comments he makes just make me so angry and raise my temper. So when I strike back at him and throw it back in his face(which he knows damn well he desrves it) he won't talk to me for a while. Then hours later he comes back and says something randomly stupid which is now what I expect that he does many times a week. My question is should I give it more time with him and try to make this friendship work? Or should I save myself from a lifetime of misery and just forget about him and making our friendship work?

Our Suggestion:
You've answered the question yourself.

You asked: "should I save myself from a lifetime of misery and just forget about him and making our friendship work?"

Looking at it that way there is not much choice but saving yourself from a life of misery.

You're ex really sounds off-the-wall and doesn't seem to be improving.

Time to leave him behind! George
