Only a friend

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
okay at the moment I'm going out with a girl and she's a really great person and nothings wrong it just doesn't feel like its going to become more. I really respect her but I don't think I have the heart to be mean to her or anything like that she really likes me so I feel bad about deciding what to do. Antoher thing is she's my best friends sister so that could make things kind of odd If I go over to his house or even with him if he doesn't see why I did. What should I do and how should I be nice in saying it? Many Thanks

Maybe you should tell your friend first.

It would be a practice run for when you have to tell her. It will also give your friend advance warning so that he stays your friend. There is the chance too that he will drop a hint to his sister so she won't be so surprised.

When you tell her say just what you told me. That she is great, that you respect her, and that there is nothing wrong with her. But you just don't have the feeling that the relationship is going to grow.

Hopefully she will take it well.

Good luck! George
